GIVEN PERMISSIONS. klaus can ruin his life always. originals. I'M AN ORIGINAL. SHOW A LITTLE RESPECT. Elijah is an Original. This means he was one of the first vampires, and is, in fact, the eldest living vampire. Here's a list traditional vampire abilities and weaknesses, modified to fit Elijah's super special original status. → Vampires do not age or die of natural causes. → Vampires can be starved, but it doesn't necessarily kill them. → A stake in the heart kills a vampire. A stake will incapacitate Elijah for a few hours, but then he'll awaken and remove the stake. → A werewolf bite can kill a vampire causes temporary illness, including hallucinations and fever. → Fire can kill a vampire. Elijah is fireproof. As is his wardrobe. Hilarious. → Vampires can't walk in daylight. Elijah can due to his ring. → Magic can injure a vampire. Powerful witches could even kill an Original, but canon states that they'd die in the process unless the Original was weakened somehow. → Vervain weakens and injures is a mild annoyance, capable of protecting humans from vampire influence. → Vampires can compel humans (basically, hypnotism, including memory manipulation). Originals can compel other vampires in their universe. For other universe vampires, this can be hit and miss, depending on what you would like. In addition, Originals can share memories and communicate telepathically. → Vampires posses accelerated healing, as well as super strength, speed, senses, durability, and agility. → The older the vampire, the more powerful he/she is. As Elijah is over 1,000 years old, he is ridiculously strong. →  Vampires can turn their emotions on and off completely. Once a few hundred years pass, they can't turn it off. → They need to be invited in to a private residence. → Originals can be temporarily killed via a very specific dagger dipped in ash from an ancient white oak tree. If the dagger is removed, then the Original comes back to life. Elijah has one dagger on his person. → They can be killed for realsies with a stake from an ancient white oak tree — currently, there is only one in existence. Damon Salavatore has this in his possession in AX, but Elijah is unaware. → If an Original dies, their entire vampire line dies. VAMPIRES AND YOU. this is the part you fill out! IS YOUR CHARACTER HUMAN? Relevant because of the next question... CAN ELIJAH USE YOUR CHARACTER AS A JUICE BOX? In other words, would you like to plot/develop friendly cr/stage an unfortunate meeting/etc. in which blood-sucking is a thing. For the most part, Elijah will avoid drinking from humans and would probably ask for your character's permission ICly as well. Elijah is completely in control of his urges. He does not feed to kill or kill to feed. Additionally, he would never feed from a child (anyone under eighteen). Note: I will always ask before initiating this in a thread and before hurting your character. This permissions post is more for simply gauging interest in vampire shenanigans. CAN ELIJAH COMPEL YOUR CHARACTER/MEDDLE WITH YOUR CHARACTER'S MEMORIES? Elijah can alter people's memories and make people do what he wants using vampire mind-control. Again, Elijah is unlikely to do this ICly, but, as with the previous question, this is more of a general "HEY, WOULD YOU BE UP FOR THIS/LIKE TO PLOT THIS OUT AT SOME POINT?"
